About the Owner & President

David Greco got his start as a New England custom builder's apprentice while putting himself through college. Starting off with smaller side jobs and eventually moving on to his own projects it didn't take long to realize he'd already found his calling, working with his hands. After learning as much as possible from all of the seasoned trades people around him and becoming a Journeyman Carpenter, electricity stood out as the next trade to focus on. He spent five years and 10000 hours of on-the-job training as an apprentice to become a Journeyman and then later, a Master Electrician. All the while still working as a general contractor after work and on weekends.

He spent the following 12 years implementing all the hard earned lessons and techniques taught to him by the many trade masters he was lucky enough to have learned from. Eventually, making his way to this area he discovered one of the most beautiful things he'd ever seen, North Carolina. And ironically, his family's roots are in Kinston, NC. It just took him a while to find his way back.

Promoting Green Thinking

Serenity Building & Electric is committed to doing what we can to promote green building practices. We don't see it as a phase or fad, but as a necessity and plain old common sense. These techniques have become more mainstream and therefore, most importantly, more affordable. We strongly believe that small steps can be taken on any project, of any size and regardless of budget, to promote this mindset and make it just another part of every day. To some it may seem an unreasonable pursuit during this economy, however there are simple steps that can be taken that don't increase the cost of a project in any way. From using recyclable building materials, disposing of rubbish in environmentally responsible landfills and reducing trips for materials through proper planning and supervision. One would take for granted that these steps are commonly used by most in the construction industry. Sadly, the opposite could not be more true, even though they can reduce expenses!
